If I were asked to name a destination that I have visited and wish to live there for a long period, I would choose Sa Pa, Vietnam. As a nature lover, the greeneries here are just so unreal and its beauty has convinced me that I’ve made the right decision to visit this town. In fact, I don’t mind travelling to Sa Pa again and again though.
Situated at 1,500 above sea level in Vietnam’s remote northwest mountains and close to the border with China, this underrated gem is indeed worth to be discovered. Whether you’re into culture, nature or outdoor activities, Sa Pa will lure you with its cultural diversity, friendly people, magnificent natural wonders and of course myriad activities for adventure seekers out there.
One of the best ways to appreciate Sa Pa’s beauty is by venturing slightly further from the town area to treat your eyes with more greeneries, hills and villages by motorcycle. I highly suggest travellers to experience this as they will have more flexibility to stop anywhere they want for a photo opportunity. Please take note that the road condition is relatively safe to use but you need to give extra attention to some areas where there are loopholes.
Uh, did I mention that the local people are quite friendly? Despite the language barrier (most of them speak very little English, they still try their best to accommodate foreign visitors. I met one of the locals along the way and she brought me to her home and showed her humble abode. It was really interesting to experience. If you wish to experience this, you can show support by purchasing their artworks like traditional bags, handbags and more.
Start planning your trip now because Sa Pa is waiting for you!
