Malaysia : Tiny Islands in Kuala Terengganu

Written by Amirul Hakim

The tiny island of Pulau Lang Tengah is located quietly nestled in between the bigger destinations of Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian. In this trip, I chose Pulau Lang Tengah. I went for 5D4N and stayed at my friend’s place in Kuala Terengganu. This was actually a day trip package we found on Instagram (@kapas.vacay). Prices range from RM55 including boats, your guides and lunch meals. Don’t want to bore you with long paragraphs but let me begin to talk about my first day in here because it was one of the most exciting times. As we planned, we decided to go for island hopping in 3 different islands, which is Pulau Lang Tengah, Pulau Redang and lastly Pulau Bidong.

We begin our first trip at 7am. Getting to Pulau Lang Tengah, you need to travel to Jeti Merang which took us 45 minutes to arrive, depending on the traffic. As we arrived, you can see there was a small jetty to welcome you!

Our first stop was Pulau Lang Tengah, the one I loved the most. Pulau Lang Tengah represents the beauty of nature, we can see the sea surface from above of crystal clear water and I had the chance to dive into the sea to see the beauty underneath. Since I didn’t bring my GoPro, sadly I couldn’t get any photos underwater world here. I could say this was one of the best dive spots in Terengganu I’ve experienced. As you can see in the pictures, I must admit that Pulau Lang Tengah is really fascinating.

Next, we went to Pulau Redang. We stopped at the island just to enjoy the meal and the beautiful view. There, I had the opportunity to see turtles, which I was excited the most because it was my first time so I took a few pictures of it as memories.

The last location was Pulau Bidong, which is known for its historical past. In the past, the island was once the home of Vietnamese refugees and there were also relics of tombs and statues. Also got our time to go diving in the blue ocean!

End of the day, I think this trip journey was priceless. I had so much fun, enjoyed every moment with my friends, exploring new places, taking some time off from the chaos of the city life and had a peaceful mind. I hope one day I’ll come back to explore more of the beauty of nature.
